What is an LED Light Facial?

This is a gentle non-invasive skin care treatment that harnesses the power of light for visibly radiant, rejuvenated and refined skin. It is painless, quick and there is no downtime.

How does it work?

As most people understand, UV light exposure is usually associated with skin ageing, however, controlled levels of LED phototherapy light have been clinically proven to be beneficial.

We use Multi-award winning Dermalux®, the latest generation in LED Phototherapy technology, to administer controlled levels of Red, Blue and Near infrared light energy to repair, rejuvenate and revitalise the skin. Safe, effective results without downtime.

“I’ve been having Dermalux treatments for mild acne and scarring for over a year now as I have just been astonished by the difference it has made to my face!

Within 3 treatments there was a dramatic difference in my skin, the redness was near enough gone and the spots were starting to subside. I now come back once a month just to keep it in order, as well as to have a 20 min relax amidst my busy schedule!

I would 100% recommend Clinic 33 in Brighton and Hove”

What do the different lights do?2020-11-20T13:29:05+00:00

There are 3 different LED lights with Dermalux, below is their individual and collective purpose:

Red and Infrared:

These lights are used for treating the epidermis which is the outer layer of the skin. When light is applied to the skin the epidermis absorbs the light and then goes on to stimulate collagen proteins. More collagen within the skin means that the skin will look fuller and overall more youthful. This means that the red light will reduce the appearence of fine lines and wrinkles. It is also used to reduce inflammation while improving circulation and this means the skin will glow and look overall a lot healthier.

Blue light:

The blue LED targets the sebaceous glands which are located beneath the hair follicle. Sebaceous glands are important as they produce oil to support our skin and to stop skin drying out. However, when these glands become overactive the by product is oily skin and acne. Blue light can help treat even severe acne including cysts and nodules.

Often the red, blue and near infrared lights are used in conjunction with one another in different combinations and amounts to resolve the skin conditions.
