Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses extremely cold temperatures to help eliminate fat from the body. It is used to treat a wide range of conditions. While cryotherapy can be an effective treatment, it can also be slow to heal if not cared after properly.
At Clinic 33, our clients see results after just one session, with a reduction in inflammation, pain, and swelling. Clinic33 is committed to providing the best possible care for our clients. Our team of experts will work with you to create a custom treatment plan that fits your needs and helps you recover from cryotherapy as quickly as possible.
Caring for yourself after cryotherapy
People often wonder how to speed up the healing process after a cryotherapy treatment. While the process may vary depending on the individual, there are a few things that can be done to help the body heal more quickly. So, if you’re looking to speed up the healing process after a cryotherapy session, there are a few things you can do.
Drink plenty of water
- One of the simplest things that can be done is to drink plenty of water in the hours following your treatment. Water helps to flush toxins out of the body (that were released during the session), which can help promote healing. It is also important to eat a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables. These foods are packed with antioxidants and other nutrients that can help support the body’s healing process.
Simple rest & recovery
- We advise patients to avoid strenuous activity for at least 48 hours after cryotherapy, as this can delay the healing process. Make sure to give your body enough time to rest and recover. Depending on your individual healing process, you may need a day or two before you feel back to normal. The body needs time to heal, and getting adequate sleep will help ensure that the body has enough energy to do so.
Use vaseline to help promote healing after cryotherapy
- After treatment, there may be a red and tender feeling that can dry up, this can last for a few days. For two weeks, use vaseline daily to the area that has been treated. This will prevent any dryness while also promoting wound healing. If the treated area does form a crust, vaseline can be applied to the area until the crust peels off.
Avoid irritating the treated area
- Blisters can be a side effect of cryotherapy and may develop within the first few hours. Although they occasionally drip a small amount of clear fluid, blisters are often harmless. Bleeding into a blister may occasionally happen. Despite being unattractive, this is not hazardous and will generally go away on its own. Avoid popping blisters. Blisters that have been punctured hurt more and take longer to recover.
By following these tips, our patients can experience a faster and more complete recovery from their cryotherapy treatment and get back to your everyday routine sooner.
