What is Fat Freezing?

Fat freezing, also known as cryotherapy (or cryolipolysis), is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction (which involves extracting fat from beneath the skin under general anaesthesia). It’s the procedure of exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures for a short period of time in order to eliminate stubborn fat deposits.

Fat cells in the targeted locations are killed and excreted naturally, but the surrounding skin remains unaffected. It’s especially good for stubborn fat pockets like those under the arms or chin, around the neck or waist, or on the belly or thighs. As the body heals and regenerates from inside, cryotherapy promotes cellular regeneration. You’ll see a more sculpted, contoured figure and a slimmer visual appearance after just a few weeks.

Fat freezing is becoming popular since it doesn’t involve surgery, which means no needles, blades, or wounds, and it’s a painless and quick treatment with no risk of infection or disturbance to daily life. It’s popularity grew as a result of its effectiveness.

How are the fat cells destroyed?

A protective membrane is placed on the skin at the targeted treatment region during a Fat Freezing treatment, then a vacuum applicator head is placed on top, suction pressure is applied, and the cooling process begins.

Between 30 and 60 minutes, the subcutaneous fat within the treatment head is exposed to below freezing temperatures.

Skin tissue and surrounding cells are not damaged as adipose tissue begins to break down from a solid to a liquid composition.

The adipose liquid tissue within the cells is then flushed out through your lymphatic drainage system and ultimately out through urine. Cell apoptosis happens as a result of this process, and the fat cells in question will be unable to re-inflate in the future.

What areas of the body can Fat Freezing be performed on?

Who is a suitable Fat Freezing candidate?

Our cryotherapy treatment in Brighton is a safe and effective way to lose fat without the downtime associated with liposuction or surgery. It’s vital to remember, though, that Fat Freezing is for fat removal, not weight loss. The ideal applicant is near to their target body weight but has stubborn regions of fat that diet and exercise alone have failed to eliminate. Fat Freezing doesn’t target visceral fat, therefore it won’t help you lose weight or improve your health.

How many sessions of Fat Freezing are usually required?

It’s possible that you only have one issue location that requires only one therapy session. You may have multiple problem areas that require treatment, or you may require multiple treatments in a single location to get your desired outcome. You will be advised to a treatment plan including the number of treatment sessions which will best achieve your desired look.

Is Fat Freezing painful?

The vast majority of non-invasive cosmetic procedures are relatively painless. Fat Freezing used to be considerably more uncomfortable on older machines a few years ago, but since the Cryo 360+ was released in 2020, it’s grown to become much more bearable.

What will I feel during the procedure?

You’ll feel a pinch at first, followed by a dip in temperature that will seem a little ‘off’. It will become numb after about 5 minutes, and you will not feel anything until the therapy is finished and the suction cup is removed. Your skin will be slightly red and numb to the touch for a few minutes until it warms up again. You won’t even realise you’ve done it after 10–15 minutes.

What side effects are to be expected immediately after a Fat Freezing treatment?

We’ve been doing this treatment (in various technological evolutions) for slightly over 9 years as of March 2022. We are delighted to report that we have had no unpleasant reactions or side effects as a result of the treatment thus far and we’ve had roughly 4000 treatments completed so far.

Any side effects may take place for a few days to a few weeks after treatment although will be brief. This may include one or more of the following:

  • Redness
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Numbness

When will I be able to see the outcomes of my cryotherapy procedure?

Results normally appear 3–9 weeks after your fat freezing treatment, though we have seen near-complete results in as little as 4 weeks in the past (mostly with the under-30s).

At the 4 and 8 week mark, we schedule all patients for post-measurement sessions to do a bio impedance check on our state-of-the-art InBody 270 system. (Analysis of body fat, BMR, protein, salt, and water content, as well as segmental fat).

We also take images to guarantee that we have a complete set of data to track your progress.

At the eight-week milestone, we’ll be able to tell if further treatment is necessary or useful.

Fat Freezing is a permanent technique; it is one of the few Aesthetic treatments that can claim this. Once the treatment is over, the cells cannot re-inflate.

What is the cost of a Fat Freezing treatment?

We’ve revised our pricing for this procedure for 2022, and we’ve actually decreased the cost, unlike many other clinics. Because we have a direct relationship with the manufacturer of both the Cryo 360 Fat Freezing equipment and the protective membranes utilised in the operation, we have been able to do so. We’ve made our pricing page as transparent as possible, but if you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
